Explore the incredible beauty and natural diversity of Black Butte Ranch alongside a local naturalist and educator. You'll learn about local plants and animals, geography, geology, and human history in this gorgeous place. Wildlife is more easily spotted during off-season programming. Kids and adults are welcome!

Details
We will meet at the Lakeside Activity Center, then go on an out-and-back trail that explores the edge of the Big Meadow, to the west of the lake, and along side the creek that has spectacular views of Black Butte and the Cascade Mountain Range (see map below). Guided hikes are up to two hours long (2-3 miles, depending on the speed and desire of the group). Programs will run rain, shine, or snow.

Your requested booking will remain pending for 24 hours after communication from Starshine confirming your requested program. To confirm your booking:
1. Pay deposit (half of total cost) with Venmo (@starshine-theater) or request an invoice for credit card
3. Complete liability waiver and email to: jennie@starshine-theater.com
You'll pay the remainder of the program cost after the completion of the program.
Program Cost
Programs start at $120 per group of 1-4. Additional adults cost $25. Additional kids cost $20.

Cancellation Policy
Bookings canceled more than 30 days in advance will receive full refund. Cancellations within 30 days, the deposit is non-refundable.

Stargazing & Moon-gazing
in the Big Meadow
at Black Butte Ranch
Enjoy the brilliance of Central Oregon's incredible night sky together with a local naturalist and educator. You'll hear an ancient story about the stars, locate constellations, and see visible planets, the moon, and other astronomical objects through a 6" telescope. We have a kids-sized scope and binoculars for you to borrow too! Each group will receive and learn how to use a sky map, specialized to the month of viewing. Tours begin about a half hour after sunset and last approximately one hour. You'll learn about and experience our incredible universe, all in the gorgeous setting at Black Butte Ranch!
